The general meeting is VDZ's supreme body. Any natural or legal person may become an ordinary member of Verein Deutscher Zementwerke e.V. if they manufacture cements or cement-type binders that are standardised or approved by the building inspectorate in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Cement manufacturers from outside Germany and other organisations associated with the cement industry may be accepted by the association as associate members.
VDZ currently has 16 German cement companies as ordinary members, as well as three German firms and 20 foreign businesses as associate members.
The members of VDZ operate a total of 45 cement works throughout Germany. Clinker and cement is produced at 31 sites (integrated cement works). 13 companies are purely grinding works; one works is a mixing plant.
